Hope everyone had a great weekend and an even better Monday…if not, nothing a few cups of coffee can’t solve right? In case you missed today’s Facebook live, I did a curling tutorial on Sara from Haute and Humid. If you haven’t checked out her blog, you definitely should :)!
1.) This is Oribe swept up. It’s a volumizing powder that is great for giving your hair that extra grip at the roots. Who doesn’t want bigger hair lol? If you’re from Texas like I am, we often use the saying “The bigger the better,” and most often it’s referring to our hair! This product is amazing because you can pump it directly into your root area and instantly feel and see more volume. It’s also great for fine textures who want/need more lift. It is even great for those who are blessed with thick hair but still want that texture boost at the roots.
2.) Honestly a must have and my personal favorite! I absolutely love this curling iron! It is made by Bio Ionic. I have talked about this curling iron in previous posts and continue to tell my clients that it is a favorite not only of mine but also by everyone that purchases it. Why? Well that’s easy, unlike others it has a long barrel that makes curling your hair super easy! The iron glides really nicely through the hair as well.
3.) This is Oribes super fine strong hairspray. I love this hairspray! What I like most about this hairspray is even though it has a strong hold it’s still flexible. It’s not going to leave your hair crunchy. It gives your hair just the right amount of hold but yet not over sprayed achieving natural, touchable looking hair all the while holding your style.
4.) Okay…the best clips ever! These claw clips are amazing for holding thick or thin hair. They grip the hair and hold it in place. No more slipping!!
5.)Unite texturiza!!! Ahhhh…another favorite of mine! I’m obsessed with this texturizing spray. It has the hold of a hairspray plus it gives you great grip. In my opinion with this product you can’t use too much!
How I created Sara’s Beach Waves:
1.) First, spray Unite Texturiza throughout the hair to create volume, hold, and texture into the hair before you begin curling.
2.) If you have a lot of hair section the hair into two sections, top and bottom. Using your claw clips secure the top section up.
3.) Set your Bio Ionic Curling iron to your desired heat. If your hair is damaged make sure to lower the temperature to prevent breakage and more damage to the hair.
4.) Grab a 1-2 inch section of your hair and run your iron a couple times over the section to smooth out the hair, using the curling iron like a flat iron. Pass the iron over the hair quickly, just smoothing the hair texture before you curl.
5.) Place the clamp of the iron depending on what side you are starting with facing inward, towards your face. Roll the hair away from your face leaving out a good 2-3 inches of hair.
6.) The key to curling your hair well is to get use to using the release button, giving you the proper tension in the curl.
7.) Continue the same section through the side of the hair.
Once you get to the other side repeat the same curl always rolling the iron away from your face. Once you have curled your entire hair, for extra volume go back and lift up the top layers to create more volume and re-curl those pieces.
After all the hair is curled spray Oribes hair spray to finish the look. I also like to recommend running your fingers through your hair a couple of times to break up all of the curls.
For even more added texture and volume use Oribes ‘Swept Up’ to give you extra texture and volume at the root of your hair.
Hope you all enjoyed our Facebook live today. Again, if you missed it click on this link to check it out! Let me know if you have any questions as well, I would love any feedback. Have a great week!
