Extending the life of your Extension Hair…
One of the most common questions we get asked is “How long does the extension hair last?” The extension hair we use on our clients lasts anywhere from 6 months to a year. Each client maintains their hair at different rates but there are tips we recommend to help get the most out of your extension hair.
Before diving into care of your hair, one of the most important factors with Natural Beaded Rows Extensions is the type of hair. Make sure you are receiving and investing in quality hair from your stylist. At Amanda K Styling we use Isla hair, which is exclusive to NBR certified stylists only.
What makes Isla Hair better than other professional hair extension brands on the market?
*Isla has less silicon, which creates a more natural and fuller appearance.
*Isla has MORE grams per weft, creating a fuller look but with less bulk per row allowing the wefts to lay flatter against the head.
*Isla hair is REMY QUALITY. “Remy” means the hair is all facing the same direction. This prevents matting and tangling because each strand remains flowing in it’s natural direction. True Remy hair will last several months if cared for properly.
*Isla hair is 100% human hair. Some companies claim to use only human hair but have actually added synthetic strands to their wefts.
Extension Hair Care Tips…
The number one thing you can do for your extensions is to BRUSH them. Brushing prevents matting and tangling, especially close to the wefts resulting in longer lasting hair. We love the Wet Brushes for extensions.
The second factor is heat. Obviously, we have to use heat on our hair and extensions but limiting the amount of high heat when possible is beneficial. Also, we always recommend using a heat protectant. We love Oribe’s Royal Blowout.
Lastly, investing in a quality blow dryer will absolutely help to extend the life of your extensions. We LOVE the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer. Yes, it’s an investment product but one that will last you for years!
