GIRL BRUSH YOUR HAIR
Today we are going to cover the basics of brushing. Yes, I realize this may sound a little elementary to most of you, but when it comes to NATURAL BEADED ROWS it’s super important!
Biggest advice: DON’T BE AFRAID TO BRUSH
Before you get in the shower, do a quick once over with your wet brush – this will prevent additional tangles that are made when shampooing your hair.
When you’re ready to brush, spray that leave-in conditioner like your hair depends on it. Jk, just spray 4-6 sprays throughout your entire head.
Using your wet brush, start at the bottom of your hair and gently make your way up to the top of the weft. While you’re brushing, you can always put your other hand on the top of the weft and kind of hold it – this will take off some of the pressure from the pulling of the brush. If it’s easier, you can always section your hair out and tackle it row by row instead.
Doing these things will prevent matting and additional tangling, which will in turn help the overall health and longevity of your hair/extensions.
Some extra tips to avoid matting:
-Don’t let your hair fly around like movie star style when riding in a boat. Make sure it’s tied back or wear a hat.
-Don’t put your hair up in a messy bun when it’s wet without brushing first.
-Don’t go to bed with wet hair unless you brush before you go to sleep and in the morning when you wake up.
-When drying your hair, make sure you get the top of those wefts completely dry! That part matters the most.
If you ever get a big tangle:
-Tackle it IMMEDIATELY, don’t let it grow to the point of destruction.
-Make it a habit to check the top of your wefts for little knots – if you feel one forming, try to pick it out with your fingers.
